Franklin Childrens Photographer | softer.

Now that the secret is out about our new studio, I can gush over the light in there! I have had about 6 sessions in the new space. I have loved each & every one soo much that I am kinda giddy. As a photographer you dream of light, the perfect warm wonderful light. You see it in everyday moments, you want to capture it allll of the time. Well, I do anyway, maybe Im nuts! The shooting room is always full of marvelous light, it makes me smile!

I love this session, she is adorable and has the biggest smile ever, she is at one of my most favorite ages and she is wearing a very old dress. Kinda perfect, right! I love the softness of it all. Sweet Caroline.

Franklin Childrens Photographer | Open House!

Well believe it or not, I kept a BIG secret for weeks now!! A few weeks ago I drove past my ideal studio in Franklin, I looked over at the row of 1800 era homes and said “one day”. Two days later I drove by again and slammed on my brakes! There was a for rent sign out in front of one of them, I thought I would explode with excitement! I immediately called the number, I couldnt wait to hear the details and see how fast i could look at it! The next day my mom & I drove over and from there….well all small details. I knew it had to be the new home for Mandy Johnson Photography!

I know some of you are probaly like OMG, she moved again, i know Im like a lil gypsy but this one, well it will stick for a long time! I dont plan on moving for a very long time! The house is full of wonderful light, I have already photographed a few sessions there and its dreamy light! I couldnt be more thrilled about working in the house! It just has a wonderful feel to it, I am so blessed to call it home

I was waiting until I could announce our open house event before posting on FB or here on the blog! We are throwing a huge open house! You have to come!! We will have lots of finger foods, drinks of all sorts, and of course lots and lots of giveaways!

Each person will be able to pop a balloon, the balloons will have prizes in them! Everything from free prints to session fees to albums, you name it! We will also have some amazing offers for your Spring & Summer Sessions! IF you book that night you will be a happy camper! Guess what? You know those friends you have that always come and ooh & aww over your portraits, bring them! franklin childrens photographer | history in the making.

when all of the great elements of a beautiful portrait come together, it really is quite stunning. each & every day that i photograph children i seem to fall into a deeper love and fascination of their spirits. the honesty and quite peace that is within them, it really is something amazing.

this lil beauty came in to have her portrait captured in a dress that was made in the 1800′s by her great (many times great) grandmother in England. every child in this family has been caputured in this dress since. i was amazed and felt very honored to be apart of such a history rich portrait. the dress itself is stunning and to run your hands over the soft material, you just think about the many generations. its pretty amazing!

i love her somber look, those big blue eyes. she is perfect.

franklin childrens photographer | two.

after a few cancellations due to weather, my health and well just life, i finally got to meet up with this beautiful family! we honestly met on the most perfect winter day you could ask for, well it felt like spring, so for me that is perfect! i am a big believer if its not snowing there is absolutely no reason to have body aching cold days! so i was thrilled to hang outdoors with them for the evening. we did a lil bit of urban goodness then ran over to get some beautiful field shots as well. these two were so well behaved and we played, laughed and acted pretty crazy most of the time. mom & dad are amazing and up for anything! i was so blessed to meet them & so blessed to capture this perfectly imperfect but oh so perfect time in their lives.

i want to take a moment to just say something super fast. to all of the moms out there that are waiting on the PERFECT time to do that portrait, waiting to lose 10 lbs, waiting for those teeth to grow back in, waiting on your schedule to lighten up a little. STOP waiting! where you are right now is perfect, its perfect because its your family and this time of your life deserves to be remembered. life is way too short and we just dont know whats going to happen tomorrow, next week or even today. so i ask you with all of my being, stop waiting. trust me to capture your family perfectly for you.
