franklin childrens photographer | history in the making.

when all of the great elements of a beautiful portrait come together, it really is quite stunning. each & every day that i photograph children i seem to fall into a deeper love and fascination of their spirits. the honesty and quite peace that is within them, it really is something amazing.

this lil beauty came in to have her portrait captured in a dress that was made in the 1800′s by her great (many times great) grandmother in England. every child in this family has been caputured in this dress since. i was amazed and felt very honored to be apart of such a history rich portrait. the dress itself is stunning and to run your hands over the soft material, you just think about the many generations. its pretty amazing!

i love her somber look, those big blue eyes. she is perfect.

franklin childrens photographer | two.

after a few cancellations due to weather, my health and well just life, i finally got to meet up with this beautiful family! we honestly met on the most perfect winter day you could ask for, well it felt like spring, so for me that is perfect! i am a big believer if its not snowing there is absolutely no reason to have body aching cold days! so i was thrilled to hang outdoors with them for the evening. we did a lil bit of urban goodness then ran over to get some beautiful field shots as well. these two were so well behaved and we played, laughed and acted pretty crazy most of the time. mom & dad are amazing and up for anything! i was so blessed to meet them & so blessed to capture this perfectly imperfect but oh so perfect time in their lives.

i want to take a moment to just say something super fast. to all of the moms out there that are waiting on the PERFECT time to do that portrait, waiting to lose 10 lbs, waiting for those teeth to grow back in, waiting on your schedule to lighten up a little. STOP waiting! where you are right now is perfect, its perfect because its your family and this time of your life deserves to be remembered. life is way too short and we just dont know whats going to happen tomorrow, next week or even today. so i ask you with all of my being, stop waiting. trust me to capture your family perfectly for you.

nashville childrens photographer | red shoes.

many many times you have heard me say how very blessed i feel to have met so many amazing people because of this career. this family is for sure one of those! sweet ellen called me when laird was only about 4 months old. as soon as i arrived at their beautiful comfy home (she is a decorator) i knew i would love this family for a long time. you know how it goes….when you can just instantly love someone, that was it for me! i can not believe how old our sweet boy is now! he is going to be celebrating his birthday soon and we had so much fun capturing some portraits to celebrate! laird is full of life, he laughs ALOT, he thinks its super funny to throw things at ms. mandy and mommy, he cracks himself up , he also really loves his dog! i personally love each and every image from this session, so does mom! these will be adorning their walls next week. YOU know you love those red shoes!!!

oh the curls. this little handsome man stole my heart the very first time I saw his picture. I know many of you have said the same thing when I posted his picture on FB this past fall. I couldnt wait to get my hands/camera in front of him! He was a little unsure about the crazy field on the side of the road but otherwise was a trooper! I honestly could photograph him, his adorable chunky cheeks and those curls..soo many curls, all day every day!
